Welcome to your Fort Worth Report.
Our mission is to inform, engage and empower. We aim to achieve that by providing fact-based local journalism that helps Fort Worth and Tarrant County residents make smart decisions about their government and their lives.
To do that, we have to start by making our content and our website easy to consume. It’s been fun and challenging to create a website from scratch, so we’re eager to get your feedback. We encourage you to click around the site and into the many stories we have posted for our launch.
We intend to update the site at least daily, so you’ll want to check back regularly for new stories and listings. You also should sign up for our newsletter so you will get emailed a handy guide to our best content.
Our website emphasizes the subject areas we will be focusing on initially with our news coverage:
Through research and focus groups, you emphasized to us key issues that are not being reported on enough locally. Of course, these are only some of the gaps in local news coverage, and we intend, with your support, to grow our staff to fill more of them. Our first edition focuses on the important May 1 local elections, but we are delivering a variety of other stories, too.
If you have questions or suggestions about what you read, please email me at thomas.martinez@fortworthreport.org. We will be moving into our new offices soon, so we look forward to talking with you in person, too.
Sincerely,
Thomas Martinez
