I’m writing on behalf of the DFW Myanmar Ethnic Community to let you know of regular events and rallies happening in DFW as a result of a military coup that took place on Feb. 1 in Myanmar. As you may know, DFW is home to thousands of people from Burma/Myanmar. Myanmar enjoyed a quasi-democracy from 2010-2020 and was previously ruled by a brutal military known for its crimes against humanity. It is also home to the longest modern civil war; since 1947.

This Sunday, April 25, there will be a food fair and fundraiser in Ft Worth from 12-3 p.m.(or until the food is gone) at Shwephonepwint Burmese Dhamma Center, 200 Williams Rd, 76120 (see attachment). We invite you to join us, to learn about and support our neighbors and enjoy good food.

You can contact me at katheriner.craig@gmail.com or go to the Facebook page for more information.

We would love to see you at any of our events and to share our personal experiences.

You can also follow hashtags #whatshappeninginmyanmar #savemyanmar and #milkteaalliance #hearthevoiceofmyanmar and #springrevolutionmyanmar for more information on current events

Sincerely,
Katie Craig
