Fort Worth, Texas – Journey4ward and Kim Hart BSN, RN will present Wear Orange Expo for Gun Violence Awareness, taking place at Westside UU Church, 901 Page Ave., Fort Worth from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 4. The Expo will feature a blood drive with Carter Blood Care, an active shooter training with Fort Worth Police Department’s C.R.A.S.E program and a two-step CPR training.

Journey4ward is proud to bring Wear Orange Expo to Fort Worth for the first time. The Wear Orange Expo will also hold a town hall panel discussion from 2-4 pm. The Expo welcomes Councilman Chris Nettles of district 8, Detective Lawanda Saunders from the FWPD gun violence unit, Cathy Taylor, founder of Journey4ward, and Sarai Honeycutt – LPC to the panel to discuss what they are doing to address gun violence in our community and answer questions on how citizens can get involved.

Those who attend can participate in the SoulBox project, grab a bite to eat from the food trucks (Wiley’s Wieners and The Beignet Bus), and visit the many vendor and organization tables who are working to end gun violence in Tarrant County and beyond.

“This kind of work takes the collaboration of an entire community. That is why we organized this event.” Kim Hart said.
