Fort Worth, TX – June 25, 2022 – The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth (REC of GFW), a regional association for the commercial real estate profession, is excited to welcome our newly elected board leadership, members, and committee chairpersons.

Joel Heydenburk will succeed former Fort Worth Mayor Kenneth Barr as chair of the board of directors. Joel is a Partner with Jackson Walker, where he focuses on real estate transactions and operations related to commercial real estate. He regularly represents landlords and tenants in preparing and negotiating commercial lease agreements in Texas and other states. He also represents buyers and sellers in acquiring and selling commercial properties ranging from $100 thousand and exceeding $600 million and represents commercial real estate owners in telecommunications matters. Joel attended Texas Christian University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He received an MBA and his law degree from Texas Tech University.

Rick Jenkins will become the Treasurer of the REC of GFW. He is the Market President for Arlington, TX, with Encore Bank – a technology-driven concierge bank serving commercial clients with business lending and commercial real estate needs. Rick has been in banking for over 20 years. Before joining the banking industry, he was involved in commercial real estate as a leasing & sales agent and worked for a local development firm. Rick Graduated from the University of Texas Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate Finance.

REC of GFW will welcome two new Board members and three new Ex-Officio members to the Board of Directors. These two new board members are Sarah LanCarte of LanCarte Commercial Real Estate, Inc., and Rachel Navejar Phillips of the Rios Group, Inc. Andy Taft of Downtown Fort Worth, Inc., Mike Brennan of Near Southside, Inc., and Stacy Marshall of Southeast Fort Worth, Inc. are new Ex-Officio directors for the Real Estate Council.
