Fort Worth, Texas — (August 30, 2022) — Rooftop Cinema Club, the ultimate open-air cinema experience, will be expanding their globally recognized brand with the opening of a Fort Worth location this fall. Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the new location will be on the outdoor terrace of The Worthington Renaissance. Rooftop Cinema Club Downtown Fort Worth will add a permanent entertainment destination for movie-watching (seasonality permitting), repurposing The Worthington’s former sport court on a portion of its outdoor mezzanine deck, called The Terrace, which has 360-degree views of downtown Fort Worth. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Tickets for the public, which will be accessible online and on mobile devices at https://rooftopcinemaclub.com/fort-worth/venue/rooftop-cinema-club-downtown-ft-worth, will go on sale in early September.
Rooftop Cinema Club currently operates multiple locations at mixed-use buildings and hotels in Chicago, Houston, LA, Miami, New York, San Diego and London. Rooftop Cinema Club’s global success draws from its ability to bring “social to cinema.” Its ambiance encompasses a mixture of movie-watching, dining and nostalgia, all surrounded by breathtaking city views. More than just a movie, the Rooftop Cinema Club experience offers guests the ultimate social escape.
“After our successful Drive-In and Summer Series in Dallas last year, we longed to find a permanent home for our flagship rooftop experience in North Texas,” said Gerry Cottle, Rooftop Cinema Club Founder. “I’m enthusiastic we have found the ideal rooftop in downtown Fort Worth and that locals and visitors will enjoy this cinematic experience, whether for a fun night with friends and family or a date night. We are so proud to be part of this city which marks the entrance to the modern West, home to many film stars and one that has inspired countless stories depicted in film.”
“This is a tremendous, history-in-the-making partnership to bring even more quality entertainment to the heart of downtown Fort Worth. Rooftop Cinema Club offers a curated movie-viewing and social experience which combined with our hotel’s central location, amazing panoramic views of our city’s landmarks, and our award-winning food and beverage offerings is a win-win for visitors and locals alike,” said Drew Hayden, General Manager of The Worthington Renaissance Downtown Fort Worth Hotel. “We were the first major, modern hotel created by the Bass family in downtown Fort Worth and the first structure in Sundance Square in 1981 and this new venue will be the first-of-its-kind for the city of Fort Worth,” added Hayden.
Rooftop Cinema Club Downtown Fort Worth offers a personalized social experience like no other with large outdoor, state-of-the-art LED screen viewing of hand-picked classics, cult films and recent releases curated by its programming team. Guests will be welcomed in an artful setting to socialize before the movie to enjoy lawn games, signature food and beverage offerings, and instagrammable skyline views. For the movie, they will be able to pre-select their choice of deck chair and will be outfitted with personal, wireless headsets to enjoy the film.
Early in September when tickets go live, October’s movie schedule and titles will be announced along with its food and drink menus and additional details about the venue. Rooftop Cinema Club has its own branded fare, and The Worthington Renaissance’s food and beverage team have created some of their own offerings. Expect fan-favorite snacks, popcorn, soft drinks, beer, wine and signature cocktails as well as savory handhelds and desserts.
