Texas Wesleyan University, in partnership with Dodson Commercial Real Estate and Miyama USA Texas, announced today a special ribbon cutting celebration on November 9, 2022 beginning at 10 am to mark the official grand opening of ‘The Rosedale.’ The $10.5 million collaborative project, situated on the corner of East Rosedale and Collard, is a significant investment in Texas Wesleyan University and the surrounding Polytechnic neighborhood. The sophisticated, 48,721 SF student residential apartment building provides 59 units of modern housing options for more than 100 students and faculty in East Fort Worth. The project proves to be a considerable milestone in The Rosedale Renaissance legacy vision.

Completion of The Rosedale brings Texas Wesleyan’s Engage 2025 Strategic Plan into full view contributing to the key pillars of community building and engagement between Texas Wesleyan students, neighbors, and the private sector. Adopted by the University’s board in January 2021, the Engage 2025 strategic plan includes facilities and programmatic initiatives. The first completed facilities project was the Graduate Nurse Anesthesia Labs expansion, with The Rosedale following, becoming a significant achievement under the strategic plan.

When asked about the impact this residential community will have on Texas Wesleyan student life, University President Frederick G. Slabach said, “A key component of the University’s Engage 2025 Strategic Plan is community building with our students, neighbors, and the private sector. We aim to enhance diversity, inclusion, student life, civic responsibility, and economic opportunity while revitalizing our campus and neighborhood. What better way to do that than with this brand-new space that will allow students the opportunity to plant long-lasting roots just footsteps from their classrooms.”
