Fort Worth emergency services still will be available over the Thanksgiving holiday, but most other city offices and services will be closed Nov. 24 and 25. 

There will be no solid waste pick-ups on Thanksgiving Day. If your normal pickup day is Thursday, it will shift to Friday, Nov. 26. If your regular pickup day is Friday, it will slide to Saturday. 

Fort Worth’s solid waste schedule recently changed. Residents can find their trash service days by entering their address at the city’s OneAddress website. 

Bulk waste collections and normal collection schedules will resume Monday, Nov. 28. Residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving. 

The city’s four drop off stations and Environmental Collection Center will also be closed Nov. 25-26. 

All Fort Worth adoption centers and animal control offices will be closed Nov. 24-25. The city’s Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m Friday, Nov. 25.

All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be open with reduced hours from 10 a.m.-3 p.m  Wednesday, Nov. 23. The libraries will be closed Nov. 24-25. 

The following facilities will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 23 and re-open Nov. 25: 

  • All community centers
  • Log Cabin Village
  • Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge
  • Fort Worth Botanic Garden
  • The water features at the Water Gardens will be turned off 

Rockwood Park Golf Course will be open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., with the last tee time at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Other municipal golf courses will be closed. McLeland Tennis Center will be open 7:30-10:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Residents may call Fort Worth’s water department’s automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency. The 24-hour call line can be reached at 817-392-4477.

Trinity Metro will offer limited services on Thanksgiving Day. The following services will operate normally: 

  • TEXRail
  • The Dash
  • Molly the Trolley

The following services will operate on a modified schedule

  • Buses
  • ACCESS paratransit
  • ZIPZONEs in Alliance and Southside

The following services will be closed Thanksgiving Day: 

  • Trinity Railway Express
  • ZIPZONEs in Mercantile and South Tarrant
  • Ticket sales kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station

Trinity Metro customer care representatives will be available from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the Thanksgiving holiday by calling 817-215-8600.

On Nov. 25, all services will operate normally except Trinity Railway Express, which will operate on a Saturday schedule and customer care representatives will be available from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
