FORT WORTH, TEXAS, January 18, 2023 – Pink will be the color of the day as the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) focuses on raising breast cancer awareness during the January 26 FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament performance. Half of rodeo ticket proceeds will benefit the Careity Foundation, a Fort Worth-based organization founded by Lynn Walsh and Beverly Branch, both of whom lost a mother to breast cancer.

“Becoming the beneficiary of the Stock Show’s charitable efforts last year was a real game changer for the foundation,” said Branch. “Careity provides a continuity of care and stays involved with patients throughout their entire journey, so this infusion of funds is absolutely critical to our work and most importantly, it benefits people with needs in our own community.”

Careity provides a wide range of services for both men and women, including cancer navigation, dietician services, nutritional supplements, mammograms, diagnostics, biopsies, surgeries, psychotherapy, social worker and chaplain services, as well as medical massage therapy, reflexology and acupuncture, all with a personal touch.

“We’re proud to support the Careity Foundation’s work for patients and their loved ones struggling with breast cancer,” said Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes. “My hope and dream is to sell out this rodeo every year in order that we can do more in the battle against this dreaded disease.”

In 2022, Careity logged more than 7,000 patient visits with more than $3 million in direct services provided. Fans are encouraged to visit the Stock Show January 21 and 22 when Walsh and Branch will be on hand at the Careity trade show booth in the Amon Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall to accept donations and offer merchandise promoting the cause.
