Tarrant County residents must pay their property taxes by 11:59 p.m. Jan. 31. But as icy conditions and freezing temperatures hit the county, officials are urging residents to take advantage of remote options for payment.
If you’re still on the hook for property taxes, the county offers two ways to pay remotely: by phone or online.
To pay by phone, call 817-884-1110 and provide your account number, which can be found on your tax statement, and the amount you wish to pay.
To pay online, head to the county’s property tax portal and click ‘Pay Now.’ You can look up the amount you owe through your account number, name, mailing address, property address or appraisal district number.
The Texas tax code does not have an exception for late payments because of winter weather. You can incur a late payment penalty and interest if you don’t pay by the due date. County officials encourage residents to start the process early today to avoid late fees. Residents who run into problems can call 817-884-1110 to get help.
