For the third year in a row, the Trinity River National Water Trail is featured in the winning photograph in the paddling and water trails division of the annual National Recreation Trails photo contest.
All three photos were taken by Teresa Patterson, the Trinity River National Water Trail manager.
This year the contest had a record number of entries, with almost 600 (591) entries in 19 categories.
American Trails sponsors the annual Photo Contest for designated National Recreation Trails. In celebration of these great trails they present awards in several categories to highlight the diversity of NRTs, from backcountry trails to urban greenways.
To be considered, all photos have to be taken on a National Recreation land or water trail. Teresa’s winning photos were all taken on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River in Fort Worth, part of the 130 mile long Trinity National Water Trail.
