The students got to perform with GRAMMY winner Arturo Sandoval at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in San Antonio last week.
This was the first time an invited mariachi ensemble performed with a guest artist. Mariachi Espuelas de Plata also became the first mariachi outside South Texas to perform in the TMEA Invited Mariachi Ensemble concert slot.
