Patricia “Pat” Carlson is challenging board president Tobi Jackson for the District 2 seat on the Fort Worth ISD school board.

Carlson, 73, is a business owner, according to her campaign filing, and has lived in the district for 17 years.

Jackson has represented the district for almost 13 years and has served as board president for two terms; May 2017-19 and May 2021 to present.

Election Day is May 6 and early voting starts April 24.

Fort Worth ISD board members are elected in single-member districts. They serve four-year terms. The seats for Districts 3, 5 and 6 also are slated.

The deadline to file for a place on the ballot has passed.
