FORT WORTH, TX (May 10, 2023) – Fort Worth Dance Academy (FWDA) will officially open the doors to its first dance studio on Thursday, June 1, located at 3548 South Hills Avenue within the Westcliff Shopping Center in Fort Worth, just three miles from the heart of downtown.

The 3,600-square-foot space will offer state-of-the-art facilities and a variety of classes for all ages and abilities. The new dance academy will feature two airy studios with bamboo and vinyl flooring, ample natural light, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. The six professionally trained instructors at FWDA will teach jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, poms/drill team, and acro classes, as well as private lessons to cater to each individual’s needs.

In addition to regularly scheduled classes throughout the year, FWDA will host a mix of camps offering innovative programs designed specifically for kids ages 3 – 12 years old. From Disney’s hit movies Frozen and Encanto to Taylor Swift and Texas-themed cowgirl camps, summer sessions begin Monday, June 5. Each camp is $200 and runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. All levels, from beginner through advanced, are welcome in this lively and colorful learning opportunity. Summer camp dates include:

The studio’s mission is to provide an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves through movement while fostering confidence and creativity. FWDA co-owner, Maggie Hamlin, a former TCU Showgirl captain and Dallas Mavericks dancer, is bringing three decades of dance experience to FWDA.

“Since the age of three, I’ve had a burning passion for dance,” said Maggie Hamlin, FWDA co-owner. “I’ve dreamt of owning my own studio for as long as I can remember. Finally, with the support of my business partner, Tanner Whitson, we’re making my childhood dreams a reality, and I couldn’t possibly be more excited. My goal is to provide top-tier instruction in a positive atmosphere so everyone, from preschoolers to adults, can experience the joy of dance at FWDA.”
