Betsy Beyette, a social studies teacher at Southwest High School in Fort Worth ISD, made good on a promise she gave to her students last spring.
Beyette told her junior students she would shave her head if most of them passed the state standardized test for U.S. history. Results showed 93% of them passed.
In front of the now seniors, Beyette handed an electric shaver to Principal John Engel and sat down on a chair inside Southwest High’s auditorium — and shaved her head.
“That’s dedication to her students! Mrs. Beyette, it’s teachers like you that make Southwest the place to be!” Southwest High School posted on Facebook.
