John Hoover has been named CEO of Medical City Fort Worth, starting September 11.

Hoover has served as COO of Medical City Fort Worth since 2021 and as interim CEO since May of 2023, where his leadership contributed to the successful launch of new service line offerings, including the expansion of solid organ transplants. He also played an integral role in leading facility expansion and capital project proposals of more than $30 million.

“John is a dedicated leader, firmly committed to outstanding and compassionate care for our community,” says Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare. “I am certain he will guide Medical City Fort Worth toward a future defined by continued growth and excellence always.”

During his tenure, the hospital has been recognized for outstanding patient care and quality, including being named as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals and 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care by Healthgrades, and was awarded an “A” grade in the spring 2023 Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group.

Hoover began his career with HCA Healthcare in 2014. He has held a variety of leadership positions including chief operating officer of Eastside Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia, vice president of operations at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas and business manager of surgical and emergency services at North Suburban Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

Hoover earned a Master of Business Administration from Regis University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado.
