Jessica Priest is Fort Worth Report's government and accountability reporter. She was previously on USA TODAY's regional investigative team. After Jessica reported that a Midland County prosecutor worked for judges on hundreds of criminal cases, including a death penalty case, a judge recommended to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals that the death penalty case be retried. The Midland prosecutor also gave up his license to practice law to avoid being disciplined for the misconduct. Jessica is from Katy, west of Houston. She graduated from Sam Houston State University and has reported in Temple, Victoria and Austin over the past decade.
