A Macy’s location — Fort Worth’s Hulen Mall, 4650 S. Hulen St.—will open a Toys “R” Us Aug. 11. The already-established toy section inside the North East Mall’s Macy’s, 1101 Melbourne Road, will continue operations regularly.
Market by Macy’s, 1751 River Run, will not receive a Toys “R” Us location; however, staff is in the process of shipping its toy inventory to the Hulen Mall location.
“We’ve gotten a lot of toys in, but we’re going to ship all of ours out to Hulen,” said Keanna Neal, the manager at the River Run Market by Macy’s. “We are getting more toys in, literally as we speak. Our last truck still had toys in it.”
“Macy’s is thrilled to expand our partnership with WHP Global to bring the beloved Toys“R”Us brand to every Macy’s store in America this holiday season, beginning late July and rolling out through Oct. 15,” Macy’s external communications associate Allison Edheimer said in an email.
After Toys“R”Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and 2018, the company was bought in March 2021 by WHP Global, a leading brand management firm.
The management firm partnered with Macy’s to create the retail location plan in August 2021. Before this plan, Macy’s exclusively offered Toys”R”Us products online.
Now, the companies plan to open 400 retail locations by October 2022.
