Get ready to vote, again.

Early voting for the May 28 primary runoff elections runs 7 a.m.-7 p.m., May 20-24.

  • Copy of or original paycheck
  • Copy of or original of a certified U.S. birth certificate or a document confirming birth admissible in a court of law which establishes the voter’s identity, which may include a foreign birth document.

Five races are on the ballot:

Republican nomination for Texas’ 12th Congressional District: Voters will decide between Republicans Craig Goldman and John O’Shea to represent the GOP in the Nov. 5 election. The seat is open after U.S. Rep. Kay Granger decided to not seek reelection, ending her 27-year tenure. District 12 includes the western half of Tarrant County and most of Parker County.

Republican nomination for Texas House District 97: Republicans John McQueeney and Cheryl Bean are competing for their party’s nomination to represent Texas House District 97, which covers southwest Tarrant County. McQueeney has the endorsement of Gov. Greg Abbott, and Bean has the backing of Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and other Republican state legislators.

Democratic nomination for Texas House District 97: Democrats Diane Symons and Carlos Walker are running for their party’s nomination for Texas House District 97. Both Symons, a photographer and presiding election judge for Tarrant County, and Walker, director of Fort Worth ISD’s Family Action Center, have centered their platforms on funding and improving public education.

The Democratic and Republican nominees for the Texas House seat will face off in the Nov. 5 general election.

Republican nomination for Texas House District 91: Incumbent state Rep. Stephanie Klick faces challenger David Lowe for the Republican nomination for Texas House District 91. The district covers a portion of north Fort Worth, North Richland Hills and Haltom City. Klick and Lowe vied for the position in a 2022 runoff, which saw Klick beat Lowe by approximately 8 percentage points.

Tarrant County Precinct 1 Commissioner: Democrats Kathleen Hicks and Roderick Miles Jr. are vying to succeed retiring Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Brooks.

Hicks previously served on the Fort Worth City Council, and recently joined the Tarrant County Coalition for Peace and Justice as executive director. Miles currently works in the office of county commissioner as an executive administrator to Brooks, who endorsed him.
