Happy Thursday,

Art galleries and food pantries are rarely mentioned in the same sentence, let alone operate within the same building.

But Easyside is anything but conventional.

The nonprofit organization was started by a group of four friends, three of whom met while in graduate school at Texas Christian University.

After graduation, the group was looking for affordable studio space without much luck — so they decided to make their own.

However, they wanted to make sure that their presence added resources back into the community rather than extracting them, which is where the food pantry came into focus.

You can learn more about their mission (and a bonus event happening there this weekend) here.
