IDEA Public Schools will host its student lottery for the 2024-25 school year on Saturday, Feb. 17.

During the lottery, IDEA will announce the names of the students randomly selected for seats at one of the eight schools in Tarrant County for the 2024-25 school year.

“We are thrilled to welcome new and existing IDEA families into our school community and are honored to provide a top-tier educational option for all students,” said Rian Townsend, executive director of IDEA Public Schools in Tarrant County. “We look forward to the opportunity to inspire, nurture and support our scholars to and through college.”

IDEA Tarrant County currently has eight schools, serving over 4,000 students across the region.

For the past 17 years, IDEA has achieved nearly 100% college acceptance among seniors while maintaining a college graduation rate five times the national average for students from low-income communities.

During the lottery, names will be selected randomly by grade, with spots offered in the order of selection. When the capacity for each grade level is reached, the remaining applications will be assigned a position on a waiting list in a randomized order. Once the lottery is complete, parents or guardians will receive a notification of your preferred method of contact (email and/or text message).

Only applications completed before the deadline (11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16) will be eligible for the lottery. Applications submitted after the lottery deadline are granted seats if available or added to the wait list in order of the date and time of their application.
